Wild Flower Area - Daffodil Lane

The aim was to provide a small wild flower area at the top of Daffodil Lane, just before the entrance to Chaine’s Wood. The flowers and plants purchased, were aimed at attracting butterflies, bees, insects and wildlife to the area. Planting was carried out in early spring 2017.

The site was cleared of large stones and unwanted weeds, gorse bushes and shrubs. Although the area was covered with some decaying leaves, additional sterilised soil, compost and grit was scattered over the surface of the site to improve the quality, texture and drainage of the soil.
